Mr Embaiya Salim Salih

Embaiya is a PhD student at the smart energy research group at ECU. His research project title is " Application of a Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage Unit for Power System Stability and Quality Enhancement"

Research Project Brief Description:

In the modern power systems, with the growth in the number of renewable sources as well as the sensitive loads and devices, the instability issue that affects the operating performance quality of the power systems has become the most affecting problem needs to be considered. In this research study, a superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) is applied to the power system and it is controlled by the artificial neural networks method (ANN) to be used as a stabilizer for increasing the stability and enhancing the quality of the power systems.
