Mrs Najmeh Faridnia

Najmeh is a PhD student at the smart energy research group at ECU. Her research project title is "Smart Energy Management of RE-MGs Incorporating Tidal Power"

Research Project Brief Description:

Power systems are becoming increasingly reliant on renewable sources. Tidal power is a high potential predictable natural source can be inverted into electricity in coastal areas. While the technology for harnessing tidal power is improving, more research is needed on managing its integration into power networks. This smart strategy research optimizes network management for a Micro-Grid that incorporates different renewable energy sources including tidal power, has storage units and can exchange power with the external grid. The tidal power component is modeled on an existing, practical case study. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is a key component for addressing the relevant Micro-Grid energy management challenges.
