Ms Zeinab Moghaddam

Zeinab is a PhD student at the smart energy research group at ECU. Her research project title is "Developing Smart Charging Strategies for Electric Vehicles"

Research Project Brief Description:

Transportation electrification has become an important issue in recent decades and the number of Electric Vehicles (EV) is on the rise. Electric vehicles are much greener than traditional vehicles. The integration of EV in the smart grid also facilitates the use of renewable energy and reduces the costs of power system investment. EV market penetration however, faces numerous challenges such as range anxiety, lack of smart charging strategies and charging stations. The aim of this research project is to develop smart charging strategies for electric vehicles. The objective is to reduce the overlap between EV charging periods and peak load hours in an EV network, and to provide reliable/flexible charging options to EV owners.
