The ECU Survey Research Centre (ECU SRC) provides survey and research support services to organisations, groups and individuals involved in academic research and community focused pursuits across the education, medical and health sector. We offer cost-effective quality data collection aiming to achieve response rates. We also undertake commissioned surveys for other organisations such as university departments, public sector agencies, non-government organisations and private companies. Established in 2008 in the School of Medical and Health Sciences at ECU’s Joondalup Campus, the ECU SRC is a fully accredited IQCA facility that has also achieved Standard ISO 20252 accreditation.
The ECU SRC is staffed by an academic director, a project co-ordinator, two survey data officer, a research centre officer, four experienced supervisors and an experienced team of telephone and field interviewers (approximately 50 members).
Along with the interviewing team all other project staff are skilled at interviewing and the team believes in a personal and hands on approach to all respondents. Respondents are valued and respected at the ECU SRC, and this provides huge benefits for all clients including high response rates, quality data, with practical and effective feedback.
Our approach is to meet with our clients to develop a joint understanding of the problem or research question and to clarify the appropriate course of action. We then agree on clear goals, costs and responsibilities. We maintain ongoing communication with the client at all stages, to enable opportunities for input and feedback.
We welcome client visits to the ECU SRC to observe the facilities and their data collection. The ECU SRC, being part of the University, believes in collection of quality data and high responses. We pride ourselves on our "respondent comes first" attitude.
Our interviewers are valued as an integral part of the team. Their feedback is valued and promoted, resulting in ECU SRC having a stable, consistent team.
