Crisis Resource Management (CRM) is:
“a management system which makes optimum use of all available resources – people, procedures, equipment – to promote safety and enhance efficiency during a crisis situation.”
The ECU Health Simulation Centre specialises in training in CRM - training in a safe yet realistic environment using immersive simulation scenarios and debriefing sessions.
Medical Practitioners, including Fellows of the College of Emergency Medicine, Advanced Trainees (in their final two years of training), Emergency Medicine Certificate holders, Senior and Chief Medical Officers working in emergency departments.
If you’re a Trainee you must provide a letter of support from your Director of Emergency Medicine Training prior to your registration being accepted.
Senior and Chief Medical Officers must provide us with a letter of support from the Fellow of Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM Director prior to your registration being accepted.
The course aims to improve your understanding of human factors and their impact on the quality of team-based clinical care within an emergency medicine environment. It aims to stimulate and challenge the experienced physician practising emergency medicine.
