Managing Patients with Increased Body Mass

In this course, participants will develop a greater understanding of the diseases and conditions associated with obesity, the psychosocial impact of obesity and strategies to successfully manage this challenging patient group.

Why train in Crisis Resource Management?

Patient safety and quality are at the heart of what we do. Studies have shown that a high proportion of adverse incidents in health care are the result of breakdowns in communication or poor teamwork.

Crisis Resource Management (CRM) is: “a management system which makes optimum use of all available resources – people, procedures, equipment – to promote safety and enhance efficiency during a crisis situation.”

The ECU Health Simulation Centre specialises in training in CRM – training in a safe yet realistic environment, using immersive simulation scenarios and debriefing sessions.
