Activity 1: Challenging attitudes and common issues encountered in general practice

This two-hour interactive education activity is delivered as a face-to-face session by general practitioners who have experience in treating alcohol and drugs in a primary care setting (Professor Moira Sim/ Dr Eric Khong).

Learning objectives

  • Increase understanding of alcohol and drug use in the community.
  • Enhance confidence in assessing and managing alcohol and drug issues.
  • Develop practice/service based policies in setting boundaries and self-care.
  • Awareness of Health Pathways and local services available to treat and support patients.
