Dr Fadi Ma'ayah

Fadi is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Sports Science and Football in the School of Medical and Health Sciences. He is also an Advanced Coach (B Licence) with Football Federation Australia and is an Instructor in Football Coach Education at the community level and conducts coaching courses for Football West.

Background

Dr Fadi Ma’ayah completed his PhD degree in Sports Science at ECU in 2004. His research project focused on Football Coaches’ Specific Leadership Behaviours. Dr Ma’ayah’s research interests centre on Leadership, Coaching, and on Sports Science and Football related topics.

Dr Ma’ayah is a successful coach at the elite college level and has coached at State, National and International Tournaments. Positions held include School Sport Western Australia Football Coordinator, West Australian School Senior Boys Coach and Tour Leader for both Senior Boys and Girls Teams. He has won many prestigious awards including the Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Award for Community Engagement 2015 and The West Australian Premier’s Teacher of the Year Award in 2005. Dr Ma’ayah is founder of the very successful Football Academy at Safety Bay Senior High School in Perth, Western Australia. In recent years Dr Ma’ayah has received invitations to be a keynote speaker in Sports Science and Football in Australia and abroad. Presentation topics have included: performance analysis and players monitoring in football; physiological demands for football players; strategic  planning for football association; establishing successful and sustainable football academies in Perth and establishing professional football leagues and clubs.
