Danae Bromilow, ECU Bachelor of Science (Nursing) student, was recently awarded the Lucy Bohan Nursing Scholarship from Zonta, a leading global service organisation of professionals which aims to empower women through service and advocacy.
Senior Lecturer, Dr Caroline Vafeas said: “Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs has offered this annual scholarship to an ECU student for many years now. Danae has consistently achieved distinctions throughout her studies and with a passion for Mental Health nursing, Danae is looking to pursue this interest on the completion of her degree. This award will help with costs associated with the course.”
The Lucy Bohan Nursing Scholarship is offered to a female nursing student who has completed the first year of study at Edith Cowan University towards a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or a Bachelor of Science (Nursing), Bachelor of Science (Midwifery) – double degree.
Also at this evening, Dr Caroline Vafeas presented on her recent visit to Bhutan with ECU Nursing and Midwifery students. International Clinical placements are typically offered to students in their final year of studies, enabling students to expand their knowledge and understanding of cultural awareness within the health care arena.
