Fiona is a Senior lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Background

Fiona was an intensive care nurse and moved into education in 1990. She worked at the University of Wolverhampton in the UK as the Head of Division for Continuing Development and taught critical care nursing courses and law and ethics.

Migrating from the UK in 2009 Fiona worked at Curtin University as the Course Coordinator for the Master of Clinical Nursing, moving to ECU in early 2012.

Fiona is a Registered Nurse with a qualification in intensive care nursing, she is a qualified teacher with a Masters degree in medical ethics and has completed doctoral studies.

  • 2019: Embedding a nursing employability framework and technology enhanced WIL to develop nursing graduate employability. ECU Teaching and Learning Grant: $5000
  • 2019: School Strategic Initiative Funding to build the remaining NCAS for each nursing practice unit in Pebble Pad, $3284.60
  • 2018: Supporting student engagement and retention through the introduction of a Teaching and Learning Support Officer Role in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Edith Cowan University, ECU Teaching and Learning Grant, $2000
  • 2016: ECU Teaching and Learning Grant: awarded for the evaluation of the SNM eportfolio project, $5000
