School holiday workshops

ECU’s School of Science: computing and security students develop and teach these day long workshops. Each workshop has different content. Participants in our Cyber Security workshops typically learn, CyberStartGo, Saburra, PicoCTF, Glacies, Google CTF, and Over The Wire challenges. As well as command line/Learn to Linux sessions, cryptography and Escape Rooms. Our computing workshops focuses on the principles of coding using Python language (including PyBlockly) on our specifically designed website  
(Makerspace.ecu.edu.au/code). We use BBC Micro: bits hardware and their accessories such as sensors and motors to further enhance their knowledge.

  • Cyber Security – Learn how to complete Cyber Challenges and Capture the Flags competitions. Practice cyber techniques.
  • Cyber Camps – Learn cyber skills at our SPP Cyber Security, Cyber Taipan and PeCan 2020 2/5 day camps. Located at ECU Joondalup.
  • Computing – 100 lines of code – have fun creating your own apps/games.
  • Computing  – Micro: bits and bots – learn how to breadboard and wire external devices to the micro: bit creating controllers, games and simple robots.
