Preparing for thesis examination

Your examiners should be contacted ahead of time to determine their availability. You must submit a nomination of examiners form at least four weeks prior to the submission of your thesis.

Masters by Research students require no fewer than two examiners, none of whom shall be a member of the academic staff of the university.

PhD and Professional Doctorate students (unless the Academic Board otherwise determines) require no fewer than three examiners, none of whom shall be a member of the academic staff of the university.

Once you have finalised the writing of your thesis you will need to ensure that the formatting of your thesis complies with the University’s Rules. The formatting your thesis page has been prepared to provide you with further information about the University’s requirements and what you must include when submitting your thesis.

You will need to provide one copy per examiner.
