Miss Shanna Fulwood

Overview of thesis

My research focuses on the importance and roles of Halophila, Chaetomorpha and wrack in the Swan-Canning Estuary for fish and invertebrates.

Macrophytes play an important role in estuarine systems as they provide a nursery habitat, a food source and shelter. I am concentrating on the importance of the mentioned habitats to fish and invertebrates and I will determine the use of the habitats to the fauna. This will involve sampling the fish and macroinvertebrates in the estuary. I will also perform isotope analyses to determine the diets of the fauna.
