Overview of thesis

My research focuses on theimportance and roles of Halophila,Chaetomorpha and wrack in the Swan-Canning Estuary for fish andinvertebrates.

Macrophytes play an important role inestuarine systems as they provide a nursery habitat, a food source and shelter.I am concentrating on the importance of the mentioned habitats to fish andinvertebrates and I will determine the use of the habitats to the fauna. Thiswill involve sampling the fish and macroinvertebrates in the estuary. I willalso perform isotope analyses to determine the diets of the fauna.
