Mr Jonas Polifka

Overview of thesis

The project intends to investigate the risks of contamination to surface waters within the Yellagonga Regional Park, an urban, groundwater-dependent wetland system in Mediterranean-type climate. Various land uses around the regional park are increasing environmental pressures to its surface water quality. Specifically, the study aims at augmenting current knowledge about contamination of the Yellagonga wetland-chain by generating a water and nutrient budget for its surface waters, identifying contaminant concentration and load hotspots and investigating sources of contamination based on identified hotspots.
