Art of Storytelling using data

You don’t need to be a data scientist to be able to work with data. Data and analytics was traditionally the domain of IT professionals. It has now become a management tool to lead the business forward.

In this engaging course, you will master the art of analysing data using MS Excel, visualise using MS Power BI or Tableau or both and craft a story using data.

This course is aimed at professionals and leaders whose typical day at work involves decision making, process optimisation or informing and helping others in leadership position to take actions and make decisions.

Course overview

This course is split into four sessions. Content includes:

  • What is story telling with data
  • Why is it important
  • Data storytelling tips and tricks
  • Examples of storytelling with data
  • Hands-on exercises including how to analyse, wrangle, visualise and present using tools such as
    • MS Excel
    • MS Power BI or Tableau
    • MS PowerPoint

About the Facilitator

Matt Neil is a principal consultant with Lime Theory and has over 14 years of experience delivering data solutions across the Mining, Aged Care, FMCG and Banking industries.

With a combined 7 years across various roles with Rio Tinto and BHP, Matt has unique experience and perspective of the positive impact that data and analytics can have from both the Operations and Technology sides of a mining business.

Lovesh Patni is a Principal Consultant with Lime Theory, delivering data analytics solutions. He has over 14 years of experience delivering strategic data analytics platforms and solutions, including establishing capabilities and architectures required for data governance, master data management and data quality management.

He has a proven track record of applying specialist skills in modern data architecture, data warehousing, information management, business intelligence and analytics to create a greater competitive advantage for his clients.
