LinkedIn is a powerful way to promote and build your individual brand, share your live resume, profile your expertise and expand personal and industry connections.

As the world’s largest professional online network with more than 630 million members and 30 million companies; LinkedIn provides a professional-platform to network and collaborate, promote your business, stay informed of current trends and industry developments, and advocate for your organisation or causes you believe in.

Used correctly, LinkedIn can significantly enhance an individual’s career development and facilitate opportunities for personal and business growth. But knowing how to best use the features of LinkedIn is challenging.

This workshop is ideal for individuals or small business owners who want to more effectively use LinkedIn to achieve personal and/or business objectives.

Course overview

This two hour masterclass is designed to take participants through a series of practical steps that will allow them to maximise the value of LinkedIn to both themselves and their business. The key areas covered are:

  • The importance of LinkedIn
  • How to engage effectively
  • Creating posts that strengthen your personal and business brand
  • Creating a strong LinkedIn profile – customisation strategies
  • Using hashtags and tagging
  • Knowledge of LinkedIn’s algorithms – keep your post in your contacts’ feed for longer
  • Additional LinkedIn tips such as cross-promotion of content on other social media platforms

About the Facilitator

Dr Violetta Wilk is a Lecturer in Digital Marketing in the School of Business and Law. Violetta has spent 15 years creating successful online and offline marketing and branding strategies, campaigns and projects for organisations in the corporate and tertiary sectors. She has taught Undergraduate, Postgraduate and MBA units, as Lecturer and Tutor.
