Occupational Health and Safety Management
Taking a proactive approach to preventing workplace injuries is at the core of the Australian legislation, including West Australian Work Health and Safety legislation. The legislation and associated guidance emphasises the importance of creating and implementing a safe system of work, with the deterrent of significant penalties and imprisonment for the most serious incidents.
The techniques to prevent incidents and injuries are well known. An Occupational Health and Safety Management System is the agreed way an organisation prevents incidents and injuries, using a structure defined in an international standard.
In our short course, one of our Lecturers, a consultant and expert in OHS Management Systems, will show you how to develop an OHS Management System for your company. By the end of the course, you will have an excellent understanding of how effective your organisation’s approach is and how you can address its weaknesses.
This course is suitable for the person in your organisation who is responsible for the Health and Safety function. If you do not have a safety person, we suggest you can send your Managing Director, Operations Manager or Project Manager.
Optional assessment: You may optionally request to complete an assessment, which if you pass can be used towards a University qualification. Ask us for more detail.
