About this Specialisation

This specialisation will equip you with key understandings of English education and provide the extended content knowledge required to address the demands and opportunities of the 7-10 secondary school English curriculum.

Emphasis is given to inquiry-based practical work, demonstrations, co-operative group work, whole class discussions and use of information communication technology, to ensure effective learning and teaching practices in secondary English. Planning, teaching, and assessment strategies are developed within a range of English content areas.

Employment opportunities

Students on graduation will be eligible for registration with the WA Teachers Registration Board and will be able to teach in primary schools and teach secondary English in secondary schools from years 7-10.
