Early Offer Program
An early offer for a place on one of our courses means one less thing to think about in the lead-up to your exams. Early offers are being made from September until the end of this year. Applications are now open for 2026.
Why study at ECU?
How it works
If you're in Year 12 on an ATAR pathway, we'll use your Year 11 school results to calculate a predicted ATAR, and if this meets the requirement for your nominated course, you'll receive a conditional early offer of a place.
This will be subject to you remaining on an ATAR pathway, achieving WACE (or equivalent) and meeting the English requirements and any other prerequisites for your chosen course (where relevant).
If you're studying a non-ATAR pathway, or if your predicted ATAR doesn't quite meet the minimum entry requirements for your course, you'll still be eligible for an early offer that's conditional on you meeting all entry requirements for your preferred course – as long as you’re on a pathway to meet entry requirements to ECU.
Non-ATAR pathways include studying a Certificate IV or an enabling program such as UniPrep or UniPrep Schools, or an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, or completing Year 12 in another state. Providing you’re on a recognised pathway, we’ll consider your eligibility for an early offer, conditional on you meeting all entry requirements for your preferred course.

How to avoid choosing the 'wrong' university course

Choosing a course that's 'right' for you is never easy. In some ways it's mission impossible unless you know exactly what you want to be after you graduate. But there are ways to avoid being stuck in a course you totally hate.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
Yes you can, depending on your chosen course. Scroll up to 'What courses can I get an early offer for?' and click on a study area. You'll see the courses highlighted for ECU City 2026.
-
Yes, please make sure you add ECU as your first preference so you can be considered for an early offer and also in the main round of TISC offers in December.
-
If you're on an ATAR pathway, you don't need to provide any documents with your application to be considered for an early offer.
If you're completing a non-ATAR pathway such as Certificate IV or enabling program, you'll need to provide evidence of your enrolment and results to date. You should make sure you're on track to qualify and refer to 'How it works' to check your eligibility.
-
If you change your mind about your course after you've received an early offer, that's OK.
If you've applied to TISC, you'll just need to update your preference in TISC and if you need assistance, see the Choosing and changing preferences web page on the TISC website.
If you've applied direct to ECU for a WAAPA course or the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) – Music Education major, you'll need to complete an Application to Change Course Preferences.
We can then issue you an updated early offer for your new course if you're eligible and this will replace your previous offer.
-
We're making TISC early offers on set dates each month. These dates are 1 September, 22 September, 13 October, 24 November and 3 December. You should allow around 2 weeks for us to assess your application. These dates are subject to change, and you should refer to TISC Early Offers for Year 12 students for further information.
If you still haven't received an offer, and think you're eligible, make sure you check that your first preference is included in the early offer scheme. If it is, you might need to contact us for an update on your application.
If you've applied for a WAAPA course or the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) – Music Education major, we'll review your eligibility for an early offer once the School has notified us of the outcome of your audition.
-
We will use your Year 11 results to consider your eligibility for an early offer. We don't change offers should later results become available that change the predicted ATAR.
-
Let's talk about your options and career aspirations when your results come out. There are other pathways into our undergraduate courses.
