Dr Prashant Bharadwaj is a Post Doctoral Research Fellow focusing on neurodegenerative diseases who leads research into Childhood Dementia at ECU and Alzheimer's Research Australia in Western Australia. He also supervises students at ECU.

Ward for the Day—a first-of-its-kind immersive simulation program in Western Australia—was developed by Dr Hugh Davies, ECU School of Nursing and Midwifery's Director of Simulation Learning to help students build the confidence, resilience and critical decision-making skills required of graduate nurses.

The centre is urging the WA community to support NeuroHub WA, an online health platform for over one million Western Australians with neurological conditions, giving them quick access to simple and easy-to-understand information, as well as highlighting the latest research.

I've always wanted to pursue a career in medical research
I heard ECU's Biomedical Science course covered many aspects of medical research, including genetics and human biology, so I saw this as an opportunity to further my education in this field. I've been able to gain practical experience in a laboratory outside of university and found this has increased the value of my CV immensely.
I've also received the Fertility North Prize in Reproductive Biology. This award has opened the door for possible postgraduate studies in an established laboratory.
