If you're applying for a course and have previous study or professional experience, you may be eligible for what we call 'advanced standing'.
Advanced standing recognises prior learning. It can allow you to reduce the number of units you need to study to be awarded your ECU qualification.
How we award advanced standing
Credit transfers can be gained through any of:
- formal learning, e.g. completion of a recognised diploma
- non-formal learning, e.g. in-house professional development
- informal learning, e.g. a hobby or work experience
NoteAny non-formal or informal learning you mention will need to be assessed by us.
Substitution exempts you from units that are equivalent to those you’ve studied already, but requires you to complete alternative units in their place.
This means you’ll complete the same number of units required for the ECU qualification.
Have qualifications already?
To see if you’re eligible to receive a credit transfer for previously completed qualifications, check our advanced standing database.
If your qualification isn’t listed, contact the School offering your course for an assessment of possible advanced standing.
