This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a range of technical production jobs in creative arts industry environments. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others and have limited responsibility for the output of others.

All applicants are required to provide evidence of their skills in live production and technical services and the ability to: produce a body of work demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to workplace requirements associated with live production and technical services in line with current industry standards and apply a basic knowledge of trends and traditions in at least one area of technical production. Skills and knowledge may have been acquired through experience or formal study. Applicants must also attend an interview. Additionally, applicants will normally be turning 17 years of age by 30 June in the year they commence the course. As part of the application process, applicants will be required to complete a language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills and competencies review. One or more of the specialisations in this course has admission requirements. Refer to the specialisation for more information.
This course has been accredited by ECU as an AQF Level 4 Certificate IV Award.
Students may be required to attend evening classes, performances and productions.
A work experience component will be delivered within each of the partner secondary schools.
Students must complete 4 core units and 12 elective units.
