Master of Business Psychology

Professionals who understand human behaviour and how to leverage this knowledge in business contexts are in demand across corporate, government, and not-for-profit sectors. The Master of Business Psychology thoughtfully combines units from the School of Business and Law and the School of Arts and Humanities to develop a contemporary evidence-based perspective. Designed for professionals who want to lead change in the workplace, graduates will gain the expertise required to apply psychological frameworks to complex business settings and empower people and teams to achieve organisational goals.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate mastery of a global body of business psychology knowledge and practice, including knowledge of research principles and methods.
  2. Apply critical thinking and technical skills to solve authentic business psychology problems.
  3. Demonstrate effective communication skills.
  4. Independently initiate, plan and execute a substantial project to meet agreed deliverables.
  5. Justify decisions and judgements that address a complex business psychology issue considering the ethical and social consequences.

Admission requirements

Admission requirement (Band 6)

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

English Language requirement (Band 4)

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified in the Admissions Policy;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs as defined in the Admissions Policy.

Course Specific Admission Requirements

All applicants are required to meet the published entry requirements. Successful applicants with a Graduate Certificate qualification or higher in Business/Commerce may seek reduced course duration by applying for recognition of prior learning, with equivalents considered.

Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level

This course has been accredited by ECU as an AQF Level 9 Masters Degree (Coursework) Award.
