Graduate Certificate of Business Analytics

As data becomes more readily available, organisations are increasingly empowered to make data-driven decisions. Business Analytics enables professionals to harness and interpret data from diverse sources, supporting more informed evidence-based decision-making across all areas of business. This course is designed for those who want to pursue a role in Business Analytics as well as business professionals who want to improve the quality of decisions in their business areas. Students will be exposed to a range of relevant knowledge and approaches to develop and enhance their practical understanding of data analytics in business areas such as finance, HRM, marketing and supply chain management. Through hands-on experience with a variety of tools, students will learn to uncover patterns and trends within complex datasets and present their insights through impactful visualisations.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Communicate specialised analytics knowledge, concepts, and skills to a variety of audiences in a discipline or professional field.
  2. Apply independent judgement when analysing and evaluating complex problems to generate data analysis solutions.
  3. Demonstrate skills in data-driven planning, analysis and evaluation tasks in a range of business environments.

Admission requirements

Admission requirement (Band 6)

  • Bachelor degree; or
  • Equivalent prior learning including at least five years relevant professional experience.

English Language requirement (Band 4)

English competency requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following:

  • IELTS Academic Overall band minimum score of 6.5 (no individual band less than 6.0);
  • Bachelor degree from a country specified in the Admissions Policy;
  • Successfully completed 0.375 EFTSL of study at postgraduate level or higher at an Australian higher education provider (or equivalent);
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience; or
  • Other tests, courses or programs as defined in the Admissions Policy.

Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level

This course has been accredited by ECU as an AQF Level 8 Graduate Certificate Award.
