This unit extends and harnesses the physical capacity of the actor. The classes demand a dexterous ability and physical confidence that allows for clear and embodied movement. The classes will call for courage, initiative, rigour, discipline, detail and heightened self-awareness. All practices undertaken will support movement knowledge for the actor and seek to extend the physical and creative capacity of the actor for application in production work and relevant projects. All classes are designed to be explorative, responsive, challenging and investigated through a class/workshop structure.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:

Appropriate Movement Studios, Intensive Workshops and Small group, solo and duo exercises, public performance. In class feedback, observation and discussion. Completion of homework and preparation Self -rehearsal and self-study.

Students please note: The marks and grades received by students on assessments may be subject to further moderation. All marks and grades are to be considered provisional until endorsed by the relevant Board of Examiners.
Due to the professional competency skill development associated with this Unit, student attendance/participation within listed in-class activities and/or online activities including discussion boards is compulsory. Students failing to meet participation standards as outlined in the unit plan may be awarded an I Grade (Fail - incomplete). Students who are unable to meet this requirement for medical or other reasons must seek the approval of the unit coordinator.
