Description

This unit provides a detailed description and analysis of State and Federal arts funding mechanisms, together with practical experience in the completion of funding applications. The role of individual and corporate financial support for arts organisations is also investigated and methods and styles of developing and presenting business cases and proposals for such support are examined.

Prerequisite Rule

Must pass all units from ADM1415, ACC1100, ADM1320, ADM1325, ADM1330, ADM1335, ADM1340, ECF1110, ADM2410, ADM2310, ADM2420, ADM2425, ADM2430, ADM2435, ADM2445, ADM2455

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Construct accurate and persuasive government funding applications.
  2. Demonstrate a knowledge of the reasons for arts patronage.
  3. Formulate sponsorship and partnership documents containing all relevant information.

Unit Content

  1. Analysis of Australian and international arts industry funding models.
  2. Australian government funding authorities and funding applications.
  3. Examination of the role and nature of philanthropy and corporate sponsorship, and methods for gaining such support.
  4. Private and public support for the arts.

Learning Experience

Students will attend on campus classes as well as engage in learning activities through ECU Blackboard.
