This is a culmination of the major where students apply skills and knowledge to produce a major journalism/broadcast project or body of work. Students will take ownership of their work, choosing both the topic and the platform/s through which it will be presented in consultation with the supervising staff. Students will apply their research, newsgathering, writing, editing, presentation, technical and problem solving skills to produce a multi-faceted project of their choice, or aligned with team project. The unit will focus on developing entrepreneurial skills to engage audiences and convince editors and publishers of their capabilities.

This unit will be delivered using technology enhanced learning, a learner-centered approach. Lectures are used to introduce the central concepts that are relevant in understanding t he principles and practices of business. They involve a blend of experiences including interactive presentations, videos and small group discussions. Tutorials provide students with the opportunity to further discuss and apply the concepts covered in lectures and readings. Activities focus on small group work, designed to develop communication skills, content creation and critical thinking and teamwork.
Stimulated work environment provides students with opportunities to use equipment or practice that is standard in industry. Assessment methods for on-campus provide students with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their achievement of the unit learning outcomes. Central to technology-enhanced learning is completing self-directed activities outside of class contact time. These preparatory activities introduce students to initial, relatable conceptions of the topics, which are reinforced through lectures, tutorials and online interactions. Assessment methods for on-campus study provide students with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their achievement of the unit learning outcomes.

Copying the words, ideas or creative works of other people, without referencing in accordance with stated University requirements. Students need to seek approval from the Unit Coordinator within the first week of study if they intend to use some of their previous work in an assessment task (self-plagiarism).
Working with other students and submitting the same or substantially similar work or portions of work when an individual submission was required. This includes students knowingly providing others with copies of their own work to use in the same or similar assessment task(s).
Organising a friend, a family member, another student or an external person or organisation (e.g. through an online website) to complete or substantially edit or refine part or all of an assessment task(s) on their behalf.
Using or having access to unauthorised materials in an exam or test.
Serious outcomes may be imposed if a student is found to have committed one of these breaches, up to and including expulsion from the University for repeated or serious acts.
