This unit supports students in conceptualising an entrepreneurial project that reflects their creative identity and long-term career aspirations within the creative industries. Students will explore the early stages of venture development, including ideation, strategic framing and value proposition design. Emphasising expansive and unconstrained thinking, the unit encourages the generation of bold, original conceptswhether an independently produced performance, cultural initiative or creative enterprise. Through critical engagement with industry contexts, funding landscapes and global creative trends, students will position their ideas within the wider ecosystem of cultural production. The unit fosters divergent thinking, strategic awareness and ethical reflection, guiding students to articulate a compelling vision and pitch proposal. By the end of the unit, students will demonstrate the ability to think creatively and entrepreneurially about their future practice, laying the foundation for sustainable and socially impactful ventures.
In this unit, students will be developing the following capabilities:

Due to the professional competency skill development associated with this Unit, student attendance/participation within listed in-class activities and/or online activities including discussion boards is compulsory. Students failing to meet participation standards as outlined in the unit information may be awarded an I Grade (Fail - incomplete). Students who are unable to meet this requirement for medical or other reasons must seek the approval of the unit coordinator.
