This unit applies a strength based approach to review the needs of communities when designing and delivering support programs. It includes investigation of some current government and non-government programs specifically in the components of evidence and research bases, operations and funding sources.Students will use this understanding to design a community and human services support program.

All students enrolled in O13 Bachelor of Community and Human Services, including those who elect to study online, need to complete 5 days of classroom-based learning in this unit as a Community Workers Australia (CWA) requirement. All other students, including students enrolled in C57 Bachelor of Youth Work, should enrol in the unit offering that does not include the 5 days of classroom-based learning.
