Description

In this unit, students will work in groups, under academic supervision, to develop a project proposal; undertake a literature review; implement and document the developed solution or research outcome; and present to relevant stakeholders. As this is a capstone learning experience, students must undertake a project directly aligned to their course learning outcomes.

Prerequisite Rule

Students enrolled in I45 or L33, must pass CSI6219.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Plan a project with stakeholders and define the scope.
  2. Communicate project goals, risks and benefits to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  3. Implement an industry-relevant project.
  4. Critically reflect and communicate the outcomes of a project to stakeholders.

  4. Managing project milestones.
  5. Managing scope change.

Additional Learning Experience Information

This is a capstone project unit designed to create an authentic learning experience for students undertaking a project directly aligned to their course learning outcomes where students can demonstrate the discipline knowledge and skills acquired throughout their degree. As such, this unit is not considered as part of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) requests. Students will normally be expected to work in groups of four to five.

Cheating in an exam

Using or having access to unauthorised materials in an exam or test.

Serious outcomes may be imposed if a student is found to have committed one of these breaches, up to and including expulsion from the University for repeated or serious acts.

As a postgraduate capstone learning experience, students must undertake a project directly aligned to their course learning outcomes, with a focus on discipline knowledge, communication and collaboration.

As a 60 credit point unit involving a substantial project deliverable, students need to plan to contribute a minimum of 22.5 working hours per week towards their assigned project group. Students will normally be expected to work in groups of three to five. This is a capstone project unit designed to create an authentic learning experience for students undertaking a project directly aligned to their course learning outcomes where students can demonstrate the discipline knowledge and skills acquired throughout their degree. As such, this unit is not considered as part of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) requests. Students will normally be expected to work in groups of four to five.
