The unit focuses on the technical expertise needed to create systematic value from the schedule and budget. In predictive and hybrid projects, this needs to be undertaken within constraints, and with reference to professional standards and guides. In this unit, students will examine the importance of balancing the triple constraints of scope, time, and cost when planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling predictive projects. The unit adopts a practical approach to developing scheduling techniques and students learn how this requires discipline yet flexibility when planning. Suitable industry standard scheduling tools are used. Students also critique the issues that arise from scheduling predictive projects and analyse alternative approaches that can be tailored to support the effective delivery of contemporary hybrid projects.
