Media Production Studio 1 offers a comprehensive exploration of broadcast journalism essentials, empowering students with the skills necessary for effective radio news production. Through hands-on exercises, students learn the intricacies of news gathering, reporting, and delivering live bulletins, honing their storytelling abilities. Specialised training in radio live crosses enhances their ability to engage audiences in real-time. The course emphasises content production, teaching students to generate compelling ideas and package news effectively for different audiences. Furthermore, students gain practical experience in presenting programs, refining their on-air presence and communication skills. This unit provides a solid foundation for aspiring broadcast journalists to excel in the dynamic media landscape.

Informal vivas may be conducted as part of an assessment task, where staff require further information to confirm the learning outcomes have been met. All marks and grades are to be considered provisional until endorsed by the relevant School Progression Panel.
