Screen producers are often required to work with clients and industry to create content that meets their needs and requirements. Learning how to manage relationships, respond to briefs, and produce content that meets expectations is essential for success in the industry. This unit explores professional practice through a simulated work environment of the city campus, which enables students to gain practical experience and develop their skills in client management, working in a writers’ room, project proposal creation, screen production, and evaluation. Students will leave the unit with scripts and project examples and a robust skillset that positions them well for careers in various aspects of screen production.
The student must complete 120 credit points in their current course of study before attempting this unit.
Students undertake an activity in collaboration or consultation with an industry partner but do not spend any time or only a very small amount of time (e.g. 1-2 short visits) in an actual workplace.
