Humanities and Social Sciences Specialisation

The Humanities and Social Sciences specialisation equips students with key understandings of Humanities and Social Science education and provides the extended content knowledge required to address the demands and opportunities of the 7-10 secondary school Humanities and Social Science curriculum. Emphasis is given to inquiry-based practical work, demonstrations, co-operative group work, whole class discussions and use of information communication technology, to ensure effective learning and teaching practices in secondary science. Planning, teaching, and assessment strategies are developed within a range of science content areas.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates of this course will be eligible to apply for registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA. Graduates will be eligible to work as primary school teachers and to teach Humanities and Social Sciences from Year 7-10.
