VET Stream

This study option covers a broad spectrum of disciplines in sound production and operation. Students develop skills and knowledge in the areas of theatre, film, television, radio, concerts, festivals, studio work and trade presentations. Specific procedures are studied in stage and concert sound, digital sound and sound for the electronic media.The theory and practice of music recording and the creation of special effects for theatre are also studied. Investigation into the new areas of acoustic sculpture and art is encouraged.

Special Admission Requirements
All applicants are required to complete CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card) and RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights, with equivalents considered. Students are required to provide evidence of completion for both units before the course begins. Applicants who have not completed the Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services will be required to attend an interview and submit a folio. All applicants are generally expected to turn at least 18 years of age by 30 June in the year they commence the course.
