Members of the Sir Frank Ledger Charitable Trust met with ECU's Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Chapman and Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of ECU's School of Engineering, Daryoush Habibi, to celebrate and mark the occasion.

Executive Dean of ECU's School of Engineering, Daryoush Habibi explained that the support offered by the Sir Frank Ledger Scholarship was life-changing for scholarship recipients, with impact extending far beyond financial benefit.

"It helps exceptional students reach their academic goals by providing $10,000 per year for the duration of their course, up to 4 years," said Professor Habibi.

"The gift of a scholarship is a transformative investment in the future. It not only eases the financial burden on students but also unlocks their potential, paving the way for academic and personal growth. It empowers talented students to pursue their dreams and make a meaningful impact on society."

Professor Daryoush Habibi says "Australia is in critical need of more professional engineers to provide the kind of innovative thinking that is needed to solve global challenges relating to sustainability, food security, and climate change."

The School of Engineering at ECU is recognised internationally for its excellent quality of education and research, supported by highly supportive and committed academics and outstanding facilities.
