The Edith Cowan University (ECU) Africa Schools Network has grown from 25 to 35 participating private international and high-performing public schools, with the Network continuing to expand.
To further this cooperation, ECU in August welcomed students and teachers from Kenya High School and Nairobi School to ECU City for the inaugural ECU Kenya Schools Study Tour. Accompanied by Kenya's Education Attaché, Dr Flora Mulatya, the delegation experienced ECU's campus, explored its academic offerings and gained an insight into life at ECU.
The visit comes as ECU marks 30 years of engagement with Kenya in 2026, providing a new opportunity to connect that long-standing relationship with the next generation of Kenyan students and educators.
Discussions are now progressing with Kenya High School around a proposed academic summer program at ECU from 2027.
"The Kenya study tour shows what can happen when you start building relationships early," said International Account Manager Wilson Msiska. "You create an opportunity for students to experience ECU, but also space for new ideas and partnerships to emerge."
The Kenya Schools Study Tour is one example of the impact of the Africa Schools Network, turning an innovative idea into a growing network and creating new opportunities for ECU across Africa.
The ECU Africa Schools Network program was recognised at the 2025 Vice-Chancellor's Staff Excellence Awards, where Msiska received the Inspirational Staff Award for Courage for his innovative approach to strengthening ECU's engagement across Africa.
