A record 65 young people were recognised in this year's awards.
A record 65 young people have been recognised in this year's Achiever Awards, celebrating their academic achievement and ability to overcome barriers in pursuit of their dreams.
The Achiever Awards, which are partly sponsored by Edith Cowan University, among others, celebrates young people aged 15 to 25, who have had a care experience and are undertaking further education and training.
Winners were honoured across three different categories - the University Achiever Award, the Registered Training Achiever Award for a young person who is commencing their first registered training course, and the Apprenticeship or Traineeship Achiever Award for a young person who is commencing their first apprenticeship or traineeship.
"The strength and determination of young people is never more on display than at these awards, and I am continually inspired by their stories of resilience as they pursue their dreams,” Western Australian Child Protection Minister Jessica Stojkovski said.
"The Achiever Awards gives us all a chance to celebrate these remarkable young people, recognise them for their efforts and support them in their diverse journeys within and beyond Western Australia.”
