Premier tours ECU's Yanchep Health Centre West ahead of April completion

Premier  Roger Cook, Minister John Carey and Member for Butler Lorna Clarke have made a visit to the ECU Health Centre Yanchep as construction completion nears.

Premier of Western Australia, Hon Roger Cook MLA, joined Minister for Planning and Lands, Housing and Works, Health Infrastructure, Hon John Carey, and Member for Butler, Lorna Clarke MLA at Edith Cowan University's (ECU's) Health Centre Yanchep West, ahead of construction completion in April.

The ECU Health Centre Yanchep West will complement the existing ECU Yanchep Health Centre East, which provides integrated and multidisciplinary health facilities including a GP clinic and Ability WA services. ECU Yanchep Health Centre East is also the location for the new Yanchep Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

ECU Health Centre Yanchep West will offer leasing opportunities for services such as sonography, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health services, child and maternal health, community health and wellbeing, and other social services.

"As the Yanchep region continues to expand, access to timely, local and integrated healthcare becomes increasingly important," ECU Executive Dean for the School of Medical and Health Sciences, Professor Moira Sim said.

"The additional health and community services planned for ECU Yanchep Health Centre West will help ensure residents can receive high-quality care close to home, while also strengthening prevention, early intervention and overall community wellbeing."

The Western Australian government has committed $8.1 million to develop the ECU Yanchep Health Centre to provide services to address the health and mental health issues faced by the local community and provide training opportunities for the future health workforce.
