As part of its commitment to wider engagement with Indonesia, South East Asia, and beyond, Edith Cowan University in October welcomed fifty Year 11 students and four accompanying teachers from Edu Global School Indonesia.
The students visited Joondalup and City campuses as part of a Perth study tour to explore international study and career pathways.
The visit was delivered through a collaborative effort involving the International Business Operations team, Edith Cowan College, the School of Engineering, School of Science, School of Arts and Humanities, and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). This initiative marks Edu Global School's first engagement with ECU, with participating students representing their campuses in Bandung, Cirebon and Medan.
Over two afternoons, students participated in campus tours, presentations and interactive sessions designed to showcase ECU's academic strengths, facilities and student experience. At Joondalup Campus, students visited the School of Engineering, School of Science, Library and Student Hub to learn about study pathways and student support services.
At ECU City, students toured the new campus, visited media and creative facilities, and heard from ECU staff and students about study and future career opportunities in Perth.
Future focus on Indonesia
With Western Australia and Indonesia linked by growing economic, educational and community ties, visits such as this help strengthen ECU's connection with one of the region's most important neighbours.
This targeted engagement forms part of ECU's increased focus on Indonesia under the ASEAN Growth Strategy 2027–31. This includes a recent appointment of a Jakarta-based Sandy Yudhistira as Indonesia Regional Manager, expanded collaborations with Indonesian education institutions and recruitment partners, and strong regional representation at the EMERGE26 ECU Global Agent Summit in September.
By demonstrating its commitment to future international students, ECU is helping build relationships that extend well beyond the classroom and create lasting impact across the region.
As ECU expands its international engagement, partnerships such as these will continue to support shared learning, cultural understanding and opportunities for future collaboration.
