The 2026 ECU Sri Lanka Graduation Ceremony was a proud celebration of achievement, excellence and aspiration, highlighting the remarkable accomplishments of ECU Sri Lanka students and the growing impact of the campus within both Sri Lanka and the broader ECU community.
Held in Colombo, the event brought together graduates, families, staff, alumni and distinguished guests, including Chancellor Gaye McMath, Vice-Chancellor Professor Clare Pollock, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) Jake Garman, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Sri Lanka) David Matthews, Academic Board Chair Professor Madeleine Ogilvie, and His Excellency Matthew Duckworth, Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.
291 graduates, their families, staff, alumni and distinguished guests were in attendance.
A highlight of the ceremony was the celebration of 291 graduates crossing the stage to receive their awards across health, business, technology, design, nursing and engineering disciplines. The occasion also marked a significant milestone for the campus with the graduation of the first cohort of students from the Bachelor of Technology (Engineering) Major in Electrical, reflecting the continued growth and diversification of ECU Sri Lanka's academic offerings.
The ceremony showcased not only the achievements of the graduating class but also the dedication and professionalism of the ECU Sri Lanka team, who delivered an exceptional event for graduates, families and guests. Their commitment ensured a memorable and meaningful celebration that reflected both ECU's values and the strong sense of community that has become a hallmark of the Sri Lanka campus.

Academic excellence was recognised through the presentation of 30 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to outstanding graduates across a range of disciplines. Graduate speaker Vinuji Karunaratne, a Biomedical Science graduate and ECU Sri Lanka staff member, delivered an inspiring address on behalf of the Class of 2026, reflecting on the transformative impact of an ECU education and the opportunities it creates for students, families and communities.
