THE Young Universities rankings look at teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.

Edith Cowan University (ECU) has maintained its position as a top 100 university after being named in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings for the third year running.

The THE Young University Rankings list the world's best universities 50 years of age or younger. ECU was established in 1991. Young universities are measured on their teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.

These are the same performance indicators as the overall THE World University Rankings, however they are weighted to reflect the younger profiles. ECU Vice-Chancellor Professor Steve Chapman CBE welcomed the top 100 ranking.

It's great to see ECU continue its climb up the international rankings. As a young, contemporary university, ECU will continue to focus on the growth of our research capacity in distinctive research areas that provide real-world solutions that benefit society. Producing world class research outputs that have particular relevance for our industry and community partners will also continue to be a major priority for us.

ECU was also named in the top 500 in the 2022 THE World University Rankings, placing it in the top 2.5% of universities in the world.
