About this PhD Unit Set

Law research at ECU concentrates on specialised research in areas covering from Cyber Laws, Human Rights and Comparative Law.

Specific postgraduate research topics are developed in conjunction with the potential supervisor, however applications are particularly encouraged from those with an interest in Cyber Laws, Artificial Intelligence, Hybrid Warfare, Criminal Law, Human Rights, Comparative Law, International Contracts, Sustainability, and Corporate Social Responsibility. State of the art facilities that can be utilised for research and collaboration with industry partners, and visualisation and video conferencing facilities also enable researchers to collaborate with other students and academics around the globe.

Special entry requirements

It is desirable that all applicants do not contact potential supervisors before applying. Applicants will be matched with a suitable supervisor if successful in gaining course admission.

Important notes

  • Candidates enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy Integrated (J42) may be required to attend classes on more than one campus to complete the research training component of the course.

  • Candidates are expected to meet regularly with their supervisors as part of the supervised independent research component of the course.
