About this PhD Unit Set
Counselling research at ECU tends to be psychotherapy focussed. The approach is generally psychoanalytic/relational in its nature.
Specific postgraduate research topics are developed in conjunction with the postgraduate coordinator or potential supervisor, however applications are particularly encouraged from those with an interest in: Clinical (psychology) issues Psychoanalytically-informed topics Gender and Sexuality Life online Researchers in the school are currently involved in projects investigating gender and sexuality, and psychoanalytically informed teaching and learning.

Candidates enrolled in the Doctor of Philosophy Integrated (J42) may be required to attend classes on more than one campus to complete the research training component of the course.

Candidates are expected to meet regularly with their supervisors as part of the supervised independent research component of the course.
