A university campus like no other

ECU City will redefine higher education in Western Australia.

The campus will be located in the heart of Perth, between the business, entertainment and cultural precincts, and connected by rail and bus across the city and beyond.

It will activate the CBD with the energy of 10,000 students and staff, and engage with the community in a way that defies traditional expectations.

Entering the 11- super-level campus will be an immersive experience, with captivating spaces and technology that will allow the outside world to see what's happening inside.

This is unique among Australian universities.

What can you study at ECU City?

At ECU City, we're bringing the following programs together to create and encourage opportunities for exciting collaborations, including those with industry groups and key organisations.

Business and Law

The School of Business and Law will connect thousands of graduates with the CBD, placing students and researchers at the centre of influence in Perth's commercial and legal district.

Broadcasting and Digital Journalism

We'll have technologically advanced and industry immersive studios for radio and television as part of our acclaimed Broadcasting and Digital Journalism program.

Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts

The internationally recognised WAAPA will deliver world-leading courses in areas such as Dance, Aboriginal Performance, Musical Theatre, Acting, Music, and Production and Design, along with over 300 public performances per year added to Perth's arts and cultural calendar.

Recognition and respect of Noongar culture and knowledge is in ECU's DNA, and this centre will be based at ECU City, alongside our University Pathway Program.

Creative Humanities

The new campus will be home to a suite of Creative Humanities programs for people who aspire to be the artists, broadcasters, communicators, designers, film makers, journalists, media producers, and writers of the future.

WA Screen Academy

The academy will continue to offer specialisations in cinematography, film directing, documentary making, production and screenwriting with the benefit of leading-edge film and television facilities. ECU City will also feature a motion capture film studio and a spatial sound lab.

Science and Technology

ECU City will be home to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate science courses. These include studies in Environmental Science, Computer Science and IT, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Cyber Security and Counter Terrorism.

Courses

ECU City will open to students from February 2026. This will include brand new students, as well as those who've already started their ECU course at Joondalup, Mount Lawley or South West Campus.

Courses for Semester 1 2026 are still being finalised, so the information shown here is a guide only. Updates will be made until the final publishing date for 2026 courses, which is anticipated to be in January 2025.

Doctor of Philosophy

A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is an opportunity to pursue a topic you're passionate about at the highest academic level.

Doctor of Philosophy (Integrated)

The Doctor of Philosophy (Integrated) is a research degree commencing with a cohort-based foundation year of research preparation followed by an independent, supervised research project.

University Preparation Courses

Our free university preparation courses are open to anyone who hasn't been at school for a while, doesn't have formal qualifications or didn't get a great Year 12 result. If you successfully complete UniPrep, you'll be eligible to start many of our undergraduate degree courses.

Applying

Applying for a course is a fairly simple process, especially if you have scanned copies of qualifications, your resume or other paperwork, ready to upload.
