The unit provides students with a basic understanding of business analytics using Excel, and exposure to various other business intelligence systems and tools. It aims to provide students with an early appreciation of the fundamentals of using analytic skills to enhance reasoning in business decision-making across various business disciplines, and to solve complex problems through anticipating change and managing risk factors, considered essential knowledge for a business graduate.
On completion of this unit students should be able to:

Students will engage in learning experiences through ECU Blackboard as well as additional ECU learning technologies.
The unit is delivered as a blended model, integrating face to face and digital learning experiences. Students will be required to access and use a variety of digital learning materials to prepare for and engage in class discussion and activities. Online students access materials for this unit via Blackboard and require regular online access. Students are required to complete set readings and participate in interactive online activities to discuss, develop and apply the concepts which are designed to develop critical thinking and business literacy. Assessment methods for on-campus and online modes provide students with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their achievement of the unit learning outcomes.
