ECU's on-campus Open Days in 2024 let people explore careers and courses with dedicated staff to help them begin to answer that all-consuming question – '"who do I want to be?"

Joondalup Open Day launched the 'season' of the future belongs to you at ECU Open Day on 9 April, with a beautiful sunny day and 7,000 campus visitors.

Open Day for our South west campus followed on 21 April, with a great bustling vibe and 1,067 visitors to our regional campus.

Beautiful day for Mount Lawley Campus Open Day

Mount Lawley Open Day last but definitely not least on 28 April, with crowds of 6,500 visitors and prospective students keen to follow their dreams.

The Open Day events are months and months in the planning and spell a massive exercise for the Brand and Marketing and Corporate Events teams and all those involved in the schools – AND the all-important volunteers on the day.

The logistics themselves of events of this size, that need to cater for thousands of people in a day, are huge. This undertaking is the annual domain of Open Day Organiser Mike Di Virgilio from ECU's Corporate Events team.

Mike has been the force behind Open Days at ECU for 5 years and colleagues say he bounces back from every challenge – and believe me there are many – with a that big smile on his face.

Mike works throughout the year with the teams to develop the best strategies to constantly improve on the day's objectives of lead generation, attendance numbers and time spent on campus…and upping the FUN, Mike says "that is a crucial element."

"Another more measurable focus for Open Days are the numbers of prospective students that engage with us, which we measure as 'total leads generated' and we topped out at 3,374," said Mike.

ECU runs a survey every year to gather as much feedback as possible and to gain news ideas for improving the way we provide information and set out the campus for the best possible experience for visitors.

If you happened to be a visitor, or a volunteer at this year's Open Days – make sure you add your feedback to the survey.
