Around 800 visitors braved the weather to be a part of Open Day, which showcased the best of university life in regional WA. Prospective and future students, along with their families explored study pathways, spoke with ECU's teaching staff, experiencing first-hand the welcoming community that ECU South West is known for.

ECU Professor Cobie Rudd, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures) said it was a joy to see so many people eager to learn what makes the campus special.

"It was wonderful to see our regional heartland alive with conversation, curiosity and excitement," Professor Rudd said.

"Even with the rain, people were smiling and connecting. You could really feel the sense of community that makes ECU such a special place to learn."

"Our South West campus is more than a place to study, it's truly where people find their confidence, discover what they're capable of and start shaping their futures. We do everything we can to help students feel supported and inspired, because when they succeed, so does our region."

"ECU has such a deep connection with this community," Professor Rudd added.

"Many of our staff and graduates live and work here, so there's a genuine pride and sense of belonging and that really shines through at Open Days."

One of the most popular attractions on campus was Harper, the newest member of ECU's Wellness Dog team. Wellness Dogs are a much-loved part of university life, offering comfort and calm during busy study periods. Harper has quickly become a favourite at ECU South West, helping students de-stress and recharge, especially around exam time.
