In a carefully choreographed operation led by construction partner Multiplex, the first of Edith Cowan University's (ECU) sky signs was hoisted into place this week using a precision craning process that took nearly five hours to complete.
The installation of the distinctive signage marks another visible milestone in the creation of Perth's first fully comprehensive inner-city university.

ECU Vice-Chancellor Professor Clare Pollock said the moment symbolises both progress and pride as ECU's presence in the heart of the city becomes unmistakable.
"The Perth skyline just changed, and it now proudly features ECU," Professor Pollock said.
"This is more than a sign; it's a statement about who we are and where we're going."
The installation offers a striking glimpse of how far the project has come as ECU City moves towards is completion later this year.
"It captures the precision and craftsmanship that's gone into every part of this campus," Professor Pollock said.
"We're creating a place for people to learn, connect and be inspired, it's a bold new presence that reflects Perth's future."
When it opens in February 2026, ECU City will bring together the arts, performance, creative humanities, business, law and technology in a dynamic campus designed to connect education, industry and community in the heart of Perth.

"Our logo now sits proudly on the city's skyline, representing a University that honours its history while looking firmly to the future," Professor Pollock added.
