ECU ranked third for teaching among the 34 business schools in Australia, behind only Bond University and The University of Melbourne.
Edith Cowan University's (ECU) School of Business and Law (SBL) has been ranked best for teaching among universities in Western Australia, and third nation-wide, by the Australian Financial Review (AFR).
AFR's yearly Best Business Schools rankings assess the performance of 34 post-graduate business schools in four categories: teaching, research, reputation and career impact.
ECU's SBL ranked third for teaching among the 34 business schools in Australia, behind only Bond University and The University of Melbourne.
The University of Western Australia was the next closest WA university on the list for teaching, ranked 12th ahead of Curtin University (14th) and Murdoch University (21st).
ECU SBL Executive Dean Professor Maryam Omari said the School's teachers have made a significant impact on students by helping to develop critical thinking skills.
"The world needs more critical thinkers and creative problem solvers to differentiate between good and bad choices," Professor Omari said.
"Contextual understanding will always be required to make the best decisions possible."

The 2026 edition of AFR's Best Business Schools split teaching scores into student opinion and external evaluation, with each sub-category equally weighted; this change in the system saw ECU's SBL tally a score of 85 out of 100 for teaching – just two shy of The University of Melbourne's score of 87 at the top of the teaching chart.
Speaking to AFR, Professor Omari said the school's impressive performance in the nation-wide teaching rankings came down to quality of staff within the university's largest faculty.
